Meet the faces behind Lutong Pinoy OC

Q: We'd love to kick things off by getting to know you a bit better. Could you share a little about yourself and the story behind your journey so far?

A: We are Lutong Pinoy OC and we specialized in making authentic Filipino dishes. We are a newly open business which started our operation last year (2023). Currently we offer catering services, lunch drop offs to work and offices around Santa Ana and surrounding city and doing local pop up events. But in case you’ve never tried Filipino food we are a go to and must try food place you dont wanna miss.

Q: We're curious about your experience growing up, living or working in Santa Ana. What does Santa Ana mean to you, and how has it shaped who you are today?

A:  Our families resides here in Santa Ana since 1940s. Santa Ana is the largest city and the heart of Orange County. I, myself was born and raised here. Not only that but Lutong Pinoy OC is born here, so is our business operations. Our commercial kitchen is also located here in Santa Ana and at the moment were doing business exclusively here in Santa Ana only.

Q: What are your hopes and dreams for Santa Ana's future? What kind of changes would you love to see in the community?

A: Santa Ana has already come along way. Over the years alot has changed and most are for good. Santa Ana has also now becoming fast growing city. I would love to see the community get more involved with the city and learn to work towards the same goal.

Q: Every path has its ups and downs. Looking back, what have been some challenges you've faced, and what lessons have you picked up along the way?

A: Doing Filipino (Asian/Pacific Islander) food business in one of the largest Latino community here in OC can be really challenging. Introducing the culture itself is hard enough however we dont see it as a problem instead we use it in our advantage. Knowing that theres very few if not the only one that makes Filipino food here that can be easily accessible to everyone. It's all about how we interpret and embrace our weakness that it becomes our strength.

Q: We're all ears when it comes to learning about your work and what lights you up. Is there anything special you're currently working on that you're excited about? We'd love to hear what's keeping you busy these days!

A: We are proud and grateful to be part of Friday Night Munchies family which is now the number one most sought after night market here in OC! With that said, we are working things out with the city for an expansion of this event. Soon we are not just limited to Friday nights but this local market will be an all weekend event.

Q: We're sure our readers would love to keep in touch and follow along with your adventures. What's the best way for them to do that?

A: You can keep in touch and get notified with whats new in our menu, events, behind the scenes and other surprising videos on our instagram page @lutongpinoyoc or come meet us in person at Friday Night Munchies every Fridays from 6pm to 10pm at 1301 S Bristol St., Santa Ana corner street of Bristol and Edinger.

Q: Before we wrap up, we want to hand the mic over to you. Is there a message you're eager to get out there? Maybe something you wish people would ask you more often?

A: If you have never tried or been wanting to try Filipino food, I recommend you guys come and visit us at FNM. I guarantee “One bite and you will be hooked” See and try it yourself why we are named the Best Lumpia in Orange County.
