Meet William Deed, Campus Director from Oak Valley College

Q: We'd love to kick things off by getting to know you a bit better. Could you share a little about yourself and the story behind your journey so far?

A: I work as a campus director at Oak Valley College. My previous work experience includes almost 10 years of working as a salesperson for 7/Up soda company. I am proud to be the father of two adult daughters and a 4-year-old grandson. I am extremely passionate about my job and find it very fulfilling.

Q: We're curious about your experience growing up, living or working in Santa Ana. What does Santa Ana mean to you, and how has it shaped who you are today?

A:  I grew up in Los Angeles, but I've grown to love Santa Ana and appreciate the welcoming nature of its people. My upbringing in my hometown has made me a hard-working and resilient person, and I feel truly blessed to have had that experience.

Q: What are your hopes and dreams for Santa Ana's future? What kind of changes would you love to see in the community?

A: I hope that the city of Santa Ana will serve as a shining example for the rest of Orange County. My wish is to witness the community thrive with ample job opportunities for its residents while the children receive quality education and attend college.

Q: Every path has its ups and downs. Looking back, what have been some challenges you've faced, and what lessons have you picked up along the way?

A: I faced a major challenge in finding my place in the world. There were many statistics that suggested I wouldn't make it. It was a tough journey to get where I am today. However, I have come to realize that hard work and self-belief are the key to success.

Q: We're all ears when it comes to learning about your work and what lights you up. Is there anything special you're currently working on that you're excited about? We'd love to hear what's keeping you busy these days!

A: I am employed at Oak Valley College, which is a remarkable business school located in Santa Ana. Our college offers a unique opportunity to students to obtain their Bachelor of Arts degree within two years and eight months, without incurring any debt. As someone who is deeply committed to recruiting promising students for our college, I am extremely passionate about my work.

Q: We're sure our readers would love to keep in touch and follow along with your adventures. What's the best way for them to do that?

A: wdeed@oakvalley.edu

Q: Before we wrap up, we want to hand the mic over to you. Is there a message you're eager to get out there? Maybe something you wish people would ask you more often?

A: I wish more people would inquire about the program to understand my passion and attract new students.
